Paris Hotel- Will our rooms be there when we arrive?
I reserved two rooms (via email) for our upcoming visit (next week),near the end of March and received a confirmation of booking. I emailed them last week just to "reconfirm" my rooms and have not received a reply as yet! Should I call them or just appear next Thursday with my confirmation and hope for the best which could be the worst? Am I being too nervous?

You should take that original confirmation you received from them WITH you. If there is any question whatsoever as to room availability then produce their e-mail for them to review.
In the meanwhile either call them directly or e-mail them a second time.

Seems like the Europeans are a bit relax about reconfirming a confirmed reservation.
Good luck and have a nice trip!

What an interesting question! Of course the rooms are there already, will be there when you arrive, and still hopefully be there after you leave. Of course if they will be vacant for you that's a different matter.

Well, Faina Again- you sure resolved my problem! Thanks for prompt answers to all. I will call since emails have not been answered. I'll let you all know IF THE ROOMS have been, are (most important!) or WILL BE!!! Taking our granddaughter with us and just want to make sure we don't have problems!

We once arrived in Amboise with my confirmation to be told our special room with balcony facing the river which we reserved 10 months ahead was not available. When I showed them the confirmation they said, "Oh, we don't keep our records that long".
Since then I reconfirm and you are smart to do that. I wouldn't worry to much that they haven't responded again assuming you will arrive armed with the written confirmation. I have often not gotten back another confirmation from them when doing so, but I usually word my fax or email to say something like, "I'm just reconfirming my reservation for three nights ____ as I made the reservation 8 months ago. I have my confirmation with me, but I just wanted to make sure everything was OK." I figure that way, in case they have lost my reservation, they now have a week or so to fix the problem before I arrive. Also I once did that and got an email back telling me that the place was out of business. So it is really a good idea to reconfirm.
