Paris GTG---June, 2018

OK my Parisian friends, do not take this lightly as I plan ahead.

Consider, Last year's 2015 villa in Nice for 14 was booked in 2013, two years out. We save our money in 2014 and the payments were spread out to make it palatable.

Rhodes, Greece in 2013 for 12 family was booked one year before and again the payments were spread out.

Our friends always said half kiddingly, Paris when I'm 90. Can't wait, as he will be 85 and I 83 in 2018 and we all or at least my wife and I are committed.

It means that all the Parisians that I have had a interesting conversation with over the last few years will be mine and my wife's delight to sit face to face with a bottle of wine, lunch and a bit of laughter.

As the months go by, I will top for any further update.

I hope we get a crowd.

Richard

Whathello, a very sad day in Nice as I am just watching the news.

DAMN!!

I would so welcome this GTG and will pursue it fervently.

Merci and I do know you are from Belgium and we loved the country.

I could never plan anything that far in advance except a huge overseas trip, but since we're a couple of train rides away from Paris kepp us up to date and we'll try to be there.

As far as I am concerned, we can discuss this again in spring 2018.

StCirq; It would be a delight and my wife is very interested in visiting Paris again and meeting Parisians and all French people for the last time.

I will top every 3 months and see how things are going, but we here are on target for this visit.

Will see our friends at Tanglewood on August 7th and have a serious talk, although this early for them it may be a good laugh.

We are meeting them in Hawaii for 6 night in Hawaii in January. They travel a lot.

iris, désolée, but I simply cannot promise to introduce her to interesting Parisians and all French people. A few good ones like kerouac and whathello and fuzzbucket and frenchmystiquetours and others, maybe , but all French people would be beyond my scope.

Listen, if there are a few who would visit with me and my wife in Paris, I would be very happy.

One, two or five and it would be a great day for us.

Kerouac; It's now only a year and a half away.

I'm regaining my strength and I will be there.

Today, my wife and I was talking about possibly of taking my two GC and their significant others.

They won't be with us during the day and we have a need to meet for a GTG.

Oh, a good thing. Pal said he would buy the first round of drinks and then a very expensive bottle of wine for us to get to know each other better.

OK, 18 months and counting.

Richard

P.S. And whichever one comes, Pariswat, Whathello or WoinParis will make my day!!

How many of us will still be alive in 2018? Old age, terrorist attacks, epidemics...

Hey Kerouac, I'll be 83 and intend to be there.

Old age and epidemics are a normal happening.

As for terrorists, that can happen anywhere and I won't let that stop my/our last trip to Europe, being PARIS.

Just show up and we can talk about 'old times.'

WhatHello; The anti-American thread got taken down and we were just getting started.

I'm one year closer to Paris than when I started this thread.

Still plan on getting there in June of 2018 and having a GTG.

Censorship - but why do they keep the thread of this girl who thinks Italians dislike Americans ?

Will not make me miss our GTG iris !
I am still game.

Glad to read you.

I'm already mired in the Anyport London GTG in June 2017; no time to worry about a GTG anywhere else in 2018.

OK my Paris friends. As soon as I said to my family last week, we are taking you to Paris, my wife nixed the thought. We are not taking family.

But with my health improving, we will be coming and it's only a year away.

Seems like late May or early June, 2018.

With only 2 of us, we may be staying in a hotel.

Perhaps not!!

And Kerouac--are you still at the airport?

I have not seen WhatHello lately. Hope everything is OK.

Will update in late September.

WhatHello has deleted his account here and has asked me to keep him informed of get togethers if they are of interest.

Seems like ParisWat is still with us? My fervent hope would have been that he was involved in the booking thread. lol

But today, I couldn't wait any longer. Talked to two of my friends to be with us next year. One of them was very interested, as it will be his 39th anniversary year.

Dates are a little more defined. Either before or just after Mother's Day on May 13th.

While it's 10 months away, at times I have booked stays in Europe a year or more in advance.

If my friends come, we will stay in a hotel. Alone, I will be looking at apartments.

Now to convince my wife to stay in France longer than 7-9 days. Perhaps a week longer. We shall see.

I am excited!!
