Paris day trip in April

Jump to last reply

Hello, my girlfriend and I will be visiting Paris for our first time this April 13th – 19th. I have booked 5 nights at the Marriott Champs-Elysees and we are planning to see the usual sites (Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, etc) and most likely a day trip. I’m thinking likely Versailles or possibly the Champagne region to see Reims and visit a winery. Any thoughts on this or additional suggestions on a day trip outside Paris?

Additionally, at this point we don’t have a hotel booked for our final night there. Since our departing flight is early the next morning, I’m considering renting a car on our 6th day (Wednesday) so that we can drive to a locale outside the city, spend the day there, and then drive to a hotel relatively close to the airport (CDG). Does anyone have any suggestions on places within driving distance that we could visit on our own that day and then be able to get back to a hotel in the airport area that evening? I wanted to find a local vineyard (which appears unrealistic) but any other itineries would be really helpful. The other option would be to just spend all Wednesday in Paris and then take the train out to the airport that night and stay in an airport hotel. Again, any ideas would be much appreciated!!
