Paris CDG Meeting Place
Can anyone recommend a good meeting place at CDG? I arrive early morning on a flight from Newark and my boyfriend arrives early afternoon from JFK. Thank you!

There is a Sheraton Hotel and a branch of one of the Brasseries, maybe Brasserie Jo, in Terminal 2. They are sort of equally inconvenient to all airlines because Terminal 2 is very large (2A to 2F, at least.)
For a country where people can spend hours lingering over a drink or cup of coffee, CDG is very poorly equipped for places to hang out, especially on the arrival side, except for the above. I think they want you to get your bags and be on your way.
The good stuff on the departure side like the leather chairs outside Cartier is mostly beyond security.
I was there yesterday so this information is accurate though it may be imperfect.

Several poorly situated and uncomfortable places for you to wait at CDG. With 6 hours, you will have plenty of time to drag your luggage around searching for a cool seat, I'd say 5 times at least. The last hour, I'd move to the arrival hall for your friend and kill the time sitting in those uncomfortable seats.
The one good thing, assuming you are coming from North America is that you will be able to fight jet lag easily enough from inside CDG, as you will have absolutely no chance of finding a place comfortable enough to even nod off, much less sleep.

Sorry, but I would vote to head to the hotel. You can be rested and relaxed by the time your boyfriend arrives, perhaps have purchased a bottle of French wine or Champagne to celebrate, found a nice little restaurant to have dinner, etc.

CDG is not a normal airport where a person can breeze airside between all the gates.
Since he will arrive at 2A and you will arrive in the SkyTeam area at 2E, It might be quite a job for him to stay airside to get to Flo's in terminal 2F. Maybe someone else knows better, and there is a bus that will do this? Else he will not be able to re-enter the secured area at 2F where Flo's seems to be.
Note that Flo's opens at 11:30.
The Sheraton is more central and may be a better meeting place.

That was my thought. You may not understand how bleak CDG is for what you want to do. It won't be some romantic rendezvous like you might be imagining
But do what you you think you should . . .

Another thought if you're flying delta would be to try to purchase a one day pass at the business class lounge. I suspect that would give you access to the AF lounges throughout. It may also be an option to go directly to AF for a one day pass. Depends upon your ticket class on Delta I suspect.

Brasserie Flo is landside, not airside. And it's a restaurant, so not really the ideal spot to hang around waiting for someone.
I'd suggest heading down to the area between 2E and 2F where there's a Paul bakery and an Illy coffee stand along with a bunch of tables where you can sit down.

So this is maybe a five hour wait?
I haven't tried it, but I suspect Sheraton does not want to function as a free flophouse for every transit passenger at the airport and will not let you use their lobby for five hours. That's just a guess, I don't know. Sitting there a few minutes, okay, but five hours? They do, in fact, rent "day rooms", if you want, but that hotel isn't cheap. But it would be convenient. That is about 200 euro (the day rate).
And if this were the plan, he could just go there, couldn't he? I don't think their lobby is that big, anyway, as I recall. They do have a bar, though (Galaxy bar), but I can't see hanging out in it 5 hours.
I agree with persuader, you'll have to keep on the move, going to various places. The area with Lilly, etc. is just horrible IMO, I can't imagine spending 5 hours there.
Both Delta and XL use terminal 2, though.

Or could be substantially longer even. Not knowing what you mean by early AM and early PM. That could be say 06:00-13:00
Show of hands who would hang around CDG for 6 or 7 hours by choice?
