Paris Art - Mailing tube

Hi, I plan to buy some art during my Paris trip. Do the Paris post offices have mailing tubes to mail them back home? Or where can one buy tubes to store the art safely?

Thanx, Kram

I'm pretty sure that they're sold at museum stores - don't remember seeing them in post offices.

Federal Express has tubes. It doesn't have to be overnited...

Kram,
I always pack a mailing tube...I fill it with socks so that It's not taking up space on the way over.
That way I'm not running around looking for one while I'm on vacation.

We bought mailing tubes at the Louvre store in the mall outside the lower entrance.

I always carry two stiff pieces of cardboard (max size for suitcase}and several sheets of acid free paper from the art supply store. that way I don't have to roll or bend the print. I have also found most museum stores carry tubes.

You also might try just asking around. I was in a panic trying to find a mailing tube on short notice for all my London treasures when, in a fit of inspiration, I asked at the front desk of my hotel. I had an old one from them, free, in 5 minutes!

We went on a bit of a wild goose chase our last few days for one. Every shop in the Louvre was out, as well as D'Orsay. Luckily Pompidou had two styles, both in stock.
I'd say when you see one, buy it!
and I've never had a problem with rolling prints. The arrive fine and look great framed. Actually I just picked up my D'Orsay Neo Impressionnisme exhibit poster and LOVE it!
have a great time!

I could sell you some, what size are you interested in Every trip we forget to pack one and so we have to buy another one.

We have had good luck at that large book store ____ et Cie? Anyone know the name? It is huge and I think the signage is yellow and black with famous authors on their bags.

You'll have to pardon me, it's late and I'm having a senior moment. By the way, the store, I think is in the 5th, spread out in several buildings and a very interesting place to visit. The tubes are downstairs along with stationary items.
