Paris apartment rental

Hi, we are traveling to Paris before continuing on to a home exchange site elsewhere. We only need a place to stay for 3 nights and we have found this apartment: http://www.vacation-rental-owner.com/
What do you guys think? Is the location central enough? Does it look legit?

Is this your first time to Paris?

The apt. location you linked is equidistant between the Voltare and Phillip-Auguste Metro stops. The neighborhood is OK but you will always need to Metro to the tourists sites (with at least one transfer) - it's not really walking distance to tourist sites (except Père Lachaise Cemetery, which is VERY closeby).

You can find a much more central location for the same price range. Here are some VERY central 1BR's to consider - from an agency that is very well known and liked. I used them and been very satisfied.

It's also listed on vrbo with the same testimonials. http://www.vrbo.com/927

For such a brief visit, you may want to stay in a more central location but that all depends on you.

I like having a real bed and not having to open the bed every night but that may not be a problem for you. Otherwise the apartment looks okay for the price.

Thank you for your input. I will check out the rentals, bardo1. They look good although some have a 5 day minimum.

We stayed here. The owner was great to work with, had no min stay and no cleaning fee. Great location and really nice apt. 99 euros a night, too!

DebitNM, thanks so much. I love the price and the location. I have already received a response from Sylvain. It looks like it will work out for us. Was the place really 3 bedroom?

It has a full bedroom, a sleeper couch in the living room and another sleeper couch in the foyer.

Please tell him that Deb from NM sent you! He is sooo nice.

I will tell him that you referred us. How was it to climb the stairs to the 4th floor every day? We have a 5 year old with us. I think we can do it, since the location is close to everything. Thanks again!

I won't lie, I would rather have been on a lower floor, especially when I like to run out in the morning for a fresh baguette, then up to eat, then down to go out, and back up because I forgot something....

The steps weren't all that bad. Someone lives a floor below that has a child, there was a stroller outside there front door. The aren't straight up, they aren't really steep either.

The apt was so lovely, the location perfect [tons of bistros, cafes, bakeries, metro, a great dept store, farmer's market, supermarket....] and working with Sylvain was so easy.

I have a sketched floorplan/layout if you are interested as it is a bit hard to figure out from the pictures. Email me at this name at gmail dot com

Funny. I just watched Midnight in Paris last night to set the mood. I loved the first 5 minutes of the movie. Now I get to dream about it for the next 6 months.
