I would avoid all of them. Taxi G7 is well established and is the most popular taxi Parisian in Paris. They now operate a shared ride service which will avoid all of the reliability pitfalls found with the small operators:

However, a regular taxi to most locations in Paris is 45€ to 55€ and can take a fraction of the time a shared ride service will take. For 3 or more, a taxi is the cheapest option into Paris.

Another vote for taxi. And a) I am frugal and b) I have been to Paris at least once a year for the past 15 years plus have tried out RER B, shuttle, Air France Bus.

Am willing to entertain all of the above on the way BACK to CDG. Post initial flight, however, just grab the darn taxi!

Go for a taxi..No way to start a holiday by waiting over an hour for a shuttle then having to drop off 4 people all over the place. Tired with a capital T..Next trip I had smartened up and for 40E went straight to my hotel. Unless the hotel is picking me up I always go for a cab on arrival days/nights and have taught my kids to do the same..Works well for us and probably will for you too!!!

I would assume traffic will be light on Sunday night from the airport into Paris, so I agree that you should take a taxi. Our taxi to an apartment near Invalides a few years ago cost 45 Euros. It was morning rush hour time, but it was also Dec. 24, so traffic was relatively light.

With three, take the taxi. Same money and faster.

If you are two a taxi is only slightly more in cost, if three it is actually less than the shuttle. Go for the taxi.

Thanks so much for your responses. FYI, two of us will be arriving after a short flight from Ireland--not coming from the U.S. But the taxi still sounds like the best option.

Without attempting to hijack this thread, I see the recommended taxi service is a shared ride service. Is there a recommended non shared taxi service that picks one up at his apt for the airport (or anywhere else) that can be arranged online or by phone? A company that also communicares in english would be a plus.

Taxis Bleus 01.49.36.10.10 English speaking line. Online at www.taxis-bleus.com but don't believe they have English version (though pretty simple interface to order a cab)

More accurately, Taxi G7, a well established taxi company, but has begun a shared ride service, but Taxi G7 itself is not a shared ride service. As Seamus points out, contacting them in English is not difficult. Overall, shared rides services in Paris are rife will problems: shuttles not showing up on time or at all, lost deposits, etc.

There are indeed private shuttles that offers services to CDG but you will generally pay more, risk losing a deposit if one is demanded, or risk not having anyone show at all. With the numerous options already in place which can serve you well: taxi, bus, train, there is absolutely no need for private shuttle services in Paris.

For the taxi, you need to find a spot at the airport and queue. That's the only possibility for a taxi.

You can also take the train RER B, to "Châtelet-Les Halles" station, and then change for metro line 1 (yellow) to Saint Paul (Le Marais) station. It takes approximately 1 hour.
