Paris 6th time for 60th b day - OR someplace new???

Jump to last reply

I have been planning a trip to Paris for April 2013. It would be my 6th trip there. I will turn 60 in Nov 2013. For my 50th I went back to London, another favorite (have now been there 6 times as well) and thought I'd like to to to Paris in honor of my 60th. It has been 6 years since my last trip. A friend planned to go but due to a recent job change (with less money) may or may not be able to go. I am fine going alone but wondered: is it silly to go somewhere for a 6th time when there are places on my wish list I haven't been to?
My choices: Paris (with a visit to Chartres or Antwerp)
Orvieto/Montepulciano/Cortona/Arezzo
Ireland (have been there in 96 but on the whirlwind tour did not really get the 'feel; of any particular place)
The Fairmont resort in Sonoma

I am also hoping to be able to afford the French Riviera in Sept - and cannot really move that up to spring.

Would you visit one of your favorite places, with time to just wander, take pictures, browse, eat pastry, poke about in shops and just savor Paris - or make sure I get to see another place on my bucket list
