Paris?

I am going to be studying abroad for 6 weeks in Holland. I am going to buy a eurorail pass and I'm trying to decided if I should include France. Any thoughts on whether Paris is worth a weekend trip or if I should use my time to focus on Belguim, Holland, and Luxemburg? Thanks.

The first time I saw Paris was when I accompanied my husband on a ten-day business conference in Brussels. We took the train to Paris for the weekend and yes, it was definitely worth it. Go take a look!

Adding a country to the Benelux Eurailpass won't be cost-effective if you only go to France for a weekend or two.

Better to ride the pass to Brussels and buy a single ticket from there. The high-speed train, Thalys, has some very nice fares called Smilys that get you a round trip for €30 (with restrictions). See thalys.com

Heck yes, go to Paris! You'll find so much there you'll want to go more than once!

Have a good time, and squeeze in a weekend in London too while you're at it.

while i do not disagree with the others, another way of looking at it is that you chose to study in holland for a reason (or even if fate put you there) so perhaps you should learn as much as you can about life in the low countries rather than to spend time travelling to another area. Six weeks is not a long time and if it were me i would stick a bit closer and learn more about my six week home country.
