Parador Gibralfaro or Nerja?

We are travelling with teen-age daughter Easter vacation in Andalusia. Seville, Cordoba, Granada and out of Malaga airport. Am planning on spending last 3 days at a Parador. Have decided on Gibralfaro, but wondering if Nerja would be more fun. Any comments?

I don't know about those, but the Parador in Ronda was amazing.

If you stay in Malaga you might be able to see the Holy Week processions. The Parador itself sits above the city so you would not have much activity in the immediate area. Nerja would offer more in the way of a resort. The drawback is the distance from the Malaga airport and some flights leave very early. There is a nice parador in the midst of a golf course between Torremolinos and the Malaga airport. Maybe you could check it out.

The Parador in Malaga is located way up on a hill and isn't really walking distance to and from the center of the city although the views are spectacular. You will need to rely on a taxi if you dont have a car. Nerja is very nice and you should visit even if you end up staying in Malaga. Buen viaje!

Have in mind that Nerja is a small town and Malaga a big city. Whatever you prefer.

I would think a teenager would think the small town atmosphere of Nerja is more "Spanish". And the beaches, particularly those at the east end of town, (Burriana) would be more fun for her.

I probably should have emphasized that the Parador de Golf would provide very easy access to Malaga as well as to the airport. Also, a short taxi ride would give you access to the many fish restaurants on the beach in Torremolinos as well as shops beaches etc... The parador itself is right on a beach. If you decide against a parador there are many very nice hotels in the area. Just a thought..for convenience as well as for your daughter.

The Parador in Malaga has beautiful views but is nowhere near anywhere except the ancient hilltop fort.
I know someone who was mugged up there one evening. They thought the fort at sunset would be cool.

Considering the processions, I opt for Malaga Gibralfaro. You can walk easily down the hill, as there is a paved path that zigzags. For going up, you'll need a taxi. Now, a taxi from Golf Parador into town with the processions: delay and jams.
Getting mugged, well, I would not go up the fortress at night.
