Pantheon & Piazza Navona Hotel Recommendations. .

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced hotels near the Pantheon and Piazza Navona? I have looked into the Albergo Cesari and Del Senato but both are booked for the week that I will be there in October. Thank you!

Santa Chiara, around the corner from the Pantheon. We stayed there last year and it was perfect. It is very popular with Fodorites. They are on Venere.com, but I got better rates directly from the hotel, 214E for a double in Oct.

We stayed at the Residenza Canali ai Coronari, just off Piazza Navona, for the Rome portion of our honeymoon in July. We had Room #1, which is an enormous room by Rome standards, and it has a very large private terrace. The price was 185E/night. They have a great breakfast each morning, and it was the perfect location for us, plus the air conditioning was fantastic (probably less of a concern for you in October but very important to us in July!). We spent a lot of time at the Vatican, and it was easy walking distance there. Just off Piazza Navona, so it was very close to the Pantheon. The Spanish Steps are a bit far, but we weren't bothered by that in the least. We were most pleased.

Hotel Navona gets terrible reviews at www.tripadvisor.com

I have no experience there, but just looked it up in reponse to the previous post. It wouldn't interest me based on what others thought about it ...

My vast travel experience has led me not to believe everything I read on trip advisor or other related sites. Often times, they are very outdate.

The bottom line: Hotel Navona is fabulously priced in a great location, with private bathrooms, bigger than average room size, above average breakfast for italy, english speaking staff and extremely clean. Rooms 13a and 13b have and extra door for more security.

But hey, I was just there. what do I know.

Here is a link to a thread for hotels near The Pantheon...which I think is more centrally located than Piazza Navona.

There are a BUNCH of negative comments about the place. Yours would be added to the GOOD comments side, but it sure seems like there are issues there!!

A nice day trip from Rome is Orvietto. The town is on top of a plateau and there is a funicular train that takes you up to the city. Beautiful view, nice shopping a fun day. Takes about 45 minutes on the ES train from Stazioni Centrale Roma Termini
