palermo & Cefalu

Since getting Modica & Ragusa sorted am moving on to Agrigento
After Agrigento I'm heading to Palermo to stay at Hotel Orientale
I am going to organise leaving Palermo by overnight ferry to Naples
but would also like to include Cefalu whilst I,m near it
Question is would be better to do a day trip from Palermo
Or maybe stay a night then head back in time to catch the
8pm ferry to Naples.
Love some advise please!!!!

You could do it without being rushed as you are so close to the train station. There are many trains in both direction, generally running on the hour, or a few minutes past, and it takes about an hour. You should be able to check out of the hotel and ask that they store your luggage for you for the day, spend the bulk of the day in Cefalu, and then take the train back to Palermo.

Just give yourself enough time to get to your ferry without rushing.

Check the Trenitalia.com site

Does that mean you aren't planning to visit anything in Palermo itself? Not even Monreale? Argh!!!

Glad to hear it!

> can you suggest say a two or three day must see

Can't help you there! I know what interests me, but I wouldn't dream of suggesting what anyone else should see or do (except to say that Monreale is truly a must-see). Any good guidebook should give you the information you need to make your own choices. IMHO, Fodor's and Frommer's are better than most guidebooks in narrowing the options down to a relatively manageable number.

Fair enough and your correct --not a one fits all
I,m looking at a foto of a mosaic at Monreale now
Also Catacommbe dei Cappuccini & Cappella Palatina
Oh the Gesu Church looks lovely
I believe the Opera House steps are where the final
scene of Godfather 3 was filmed
Three days !!! Certainly
