Painting Classes at Giverny or surrounds in English please!

Being huge Monet/Impressionist fans, we are planning to spend 3 days at Giverny and its general area this July. We are hoping to do a 2-3 day painting course if possible. Most courses seem to be 7 days long and in French. Any leads on painting classes (2 kids and 2 adults) for a 2-3 day period conducted in English?

Depending on that, any suggestions on where should we stay - Giverny/Rouen or somewhere else? We are not planning to drive.

Merci!

I think that would be very unusual to find the classes you want, and children and adults are not usually in the same classes.

They seem to have a page about this on the Giverny website
http://giverny.org/peindre/#ArtStudy

The Chinese ones look interesting and maybe the only possibility, as the Artstudy is a week or more. If I were you, I might forget this idea and just enjoy your visit as a regular tourist. You'd need to have all kinds of art supplies with you, anyway, if you did that. And then what would you do with the results?

FWIW, here is a woman in Paris who has what you want, you can arrange a day trip with her for painting at Giverny for around 500 euro for a group up to 4.

She doesn't mention English but given her webpage has a section in English, I suspect she must be targeting English speakers, also, and may know English well enought to teach it.

Since you can easily travel between Rouen and Giverny (Vernon Rail Station) by rail, staying in Rouen makes more sense as there is far more to see and do.

Thanks - I managed through the tourist guide website get in touch with a small B&B near Vernon to do a painting class in English though at her own studio followed by a guided tour of Monets gardens over three/four days. My concern now is that a day trip to Rouen seems too short!
