Painted Monasteries, Romania

Jump to last reply

I'm in the middle of planning out our itinerary for a 12 day trip to Romania and am wondering how many days to allow for the painted monasteries in Bukovina. I'm wanting to see as many as I can without rushing too much. I also want to allow for a possible repeat visit to Voronet. At the moment I've got 4 days pencilled in, but am wondering if this is too much? We plan to hire a car once we reach Suceava to get around. Also, does anyone have any information on the trains to suceava. We'll be most likely going Brasov - Suceava. What are the night trains like? Are they safe/reasonably comfortable? Or is travelling during the day more advisable? I've read that sleepers aren't available on this route - is that correct?

Thanks in advance.
