Packing London

I am leaving tomorrow and have done no packing. Half work (Weybridge) and half vacation in London. I live in NY. We wear rain boots here. I don't feel like lugging a pair, but also don't want to slog through puddles.
Also rain coat or light wool fall coat? I don't want to overpack but I sure do hate being cold and damp.
Thanks

I never take rain boots unless I'll be in the country. I just use regular shoes w/ good soles. I take a lightweight raincoat that fits over my jacket or sweaters

sort of like this one

But a trench w/ or w/o a zip out liner is always good.

Or something like this

If you're cold pop into Uniqlo for some lightweight underlayers.

I don't wear rain boots in London. As Janisj says; shoes with a good sole. And I don't like wearing a heavy jacket in town, as you're always too warm once you step into a shop or museum. Layers are better. Again Uniqlo; I nearly always take one of their ultra light down jackets. Weighs next to nothing and you pack it in a small pouch if you don't need it.

Have a good trip!

"sort of like this one"

Clearly, fashion is not a priority for you.

SOJOURNTRAVELLER,

re JANISJ suggestion for the Nordstrom travel coat:

"sort of like this one"

Clearly, fashion is not a priority for you.

Actually, I liked it, guess fashion is not a priority with me either, eh? That was a rather cold remark.

If you saw how often janisj likes to post after me and make a comment about what I have written, you would understand why I wrote an 'unnecessary comment' emmagus.
