Package Tours of Normandy
We will be in France in early September and want to explore Normandy. My husband does not want to drive. We are both over 65 but in good health. Does anyone have any recommendations for a tour company who might have a 4-5 day tour of Normandy..Rouen, Caen, Bayeux, D-day beaches, Mt. St. Michel. The guide would need to be English speaking, and include hotels, transportation and meals. We can get to Rouen from Paris by ourselves. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I don't myself, but Overlord Tours seems to have a good reputation and I see they do have some 2 day tours and say you can contact them for a week tour
http://www.overlordtour.com/overlord...om-Paris.html#
Now I did use this company for a half day tour of the Normandy beaches, and they were very very good

They say you can contact them for private tours, but I suppose you want something less expensive. YOu could cobble together at least a couple of their one-day tours, I suppose (WWII and Mt St Michel) if you were staying in Bayeux.
Now this company runs out of Paris, and they do have several 2-4 day tours of Normandy you might consider

I took one of their day tours and it was excellent, but I have no knowledge of their longer tours. The 3-4 day ones seem to pack in a lot (Mt St Michel and WWII beaches and the Loire), maybe too much.
Those are the best suggestions I have. I know the two Normandy tour cmopanies have English tours.

Hi Christina!
Thanks so much for this information. I also found another site (actually through the Fordor's link) called Link Paris.Com Apparently they specialize in Normandy and I have already received some information back from them. I would like to drive around myself, but my husband really wants to be lead around with a guide so he can see everything and not have to worry about where to go and how to get there.
Thanks again, and maybe I'll report back after our trip in the Fall.

We took the train from Paris to Bayeux and was an easy walk into the village from there. I would base yourself out of there for at least two nights. We did it ourselves but overlord seems to get the highest ratings. It is a beautiful part of France and the village has nice places to eat. The cathedral is lit at night and beautiful.

Thanks Flpab and Kakt for these suggestions. Since we will go directly to Normandy upon arrival in France (CDG)from USA, I thought we should just take the train from the airport to Rouen and stay there 2 nights to get over the jet lag. Then either rent our car in Rouen and go to Caen, Bayeux, D Day beaches and MSM. Pick up a one day tour of D Day beaches. My husband really does not want to drive, so we will be paying more for a guided trip of 3-4 days . Eventually train back to Paris to continue our stay there for 5 nights before picking up a Viking River Cruise near Lyon. Whew...what an exhausting trip, but we will try to take it slow.

Hi, there are so many options for Normandy tours. I believe Cosmos and Globus both have tours there as well as Trafalgar.
It can be hard to find and compare the right tour. I found this site which can help: www.stridetravel.com/home

Do you by any chance work for Stridetravel, jalster? I notice you've only posted twice and just happened to recommend that website both times, so I just wondered. The OP doesn't want a company like Cosmose, just one locally for a couple days.

There are so many to choose from. I went through this company in October 2013: http://www.normandy-sightseeing-tours.com/
The guides speak English, are very knowledgeable and have different types or tours to choose from. The guide we had also provided background of the culture and history of the region beyond WW2.
Unfortunately we couldn't see some of the American-specific sites (i.e. US cemetary) because the US-ran sites were closed due to the US government shut down at the time, so our guide improvised with alternatives and we got to tour a cider factory. Very interesting.
Enjoy the region! It was a highlight of our trip.
