Paciano to Matera

Jump to last reply

In June 2013 we will be going from Paciano to Matera. It is a long trip, so we decided to leave early, stop at Tivoli for the fountains (+- 3 hours) and stay over in Caserta.
Leave Paciano at 08:00 and arrive in Tivoli by 11:00. See the fountains, have lunch in the gardens (our own) and leave by 15:00 for Caserta. We will arrive in Caserta not later than 18:00. See the Palace the next morning and leave for Matera where we will spend a few nights. This is our only "long trip" while in Italy and we want to see both Tivoli (Villa D'Este) and Caserta as it is on our route to Matera. My concern is that the more I read, I realise Tivoli has so much to offer. Should we rather stay over in Tivoli and see the other Villas and not see Caserta? Please advise me on this, not sure what to do.
Thank you!
Erna
