We are travelling from Salzburg to Zermatt with an overnight in Chur or St Moritz.in early July. We are outdoor people and will spend only an afternoon and evening in either city. Is it worth going to St Moritz as it is an extra 2 hour train ride (both going and coming). We will be taking the Glacier Express the next day.

Hi anditg,
Oh yes, I think so. Maybe not the town of St. Moritz itself, but you could stay in a nearby village like Sils or a town like Pontresina. The architecture, mountains, and the string of Alpine Lakes down the Upper Engadin Valley are just stunning. More information at

Have fun!
