Our Pre-Trip Party for Travels in Sept. 2013

Jump to last reply

Four and an half months to go until our trip...

We gathered with our traveling companions at our house for a pre-trip get-together. We are heading to the Aveyron, Lot and Dordogne. We will begin our trip in Montpellier and will end in Toulouse.

For fun, I gave each couple 2 CD's with my favorite French songs/music. Of course, I had to include Andre Roques "Bonjour Le Tarn" and "Mon Aveyron!" And to include "J'ai Deux Amours" by Josephine Baker was a no-brainer. Add a few Edith Piafs, Maurice Chevalier, etc. and it was a nice mix!

One couple brought some fois gras (he bought it on our last trip) and toast points. Add some other delicious food, a few bottles of French wine, and homemade salted butter caramel ice cream for dessert. A good time was had by all!

And I handed out some "Golden Rules of Traveling with Friends" that I gathered from many posts here. I will definitely post a trip report when we are back. It will be interesting to say the least. We have traveled with two other couples before, but never with three couples. I do expect us to go our separate ways often, and not travel en masse.

Wish us luck!!
