Our itinerary in Italy...

Jump to last reply

How does the timing look to you....

We are headed to Italy the second week of July for our anniversary and our itinerary is as follows..

Day 1 Fly into Munich and have a rental car waiting. Rented a small diesel from Gemut. Tour Munich for awhile and then check in to the Hotel Villa Solln in the southern part of the city. After a nap we will head over to the Waldwirtschaft beer garden for dinner and of course beer.

Day 2 Drive through Austria to the Venice area. We will be staying at the Alle Corte BandB in a very small town of Pianzano an hour north of Venice.

Day 3 Take the train into Venice and explore. Return to Pianzano

Day 4 Drive into Mestre, park the car at the Hotel Bologna car park(Best Western) and catch the local into Venice to spend another day. Return to Pianzano.

Day 5 Drive to Lake Como and stay at the Villa Maria BandB in Lierna. Explore the area.

Day 6 Take the hydrofoil to Bellagio and Varenna for a day of sightseeing

Day 7 drive to the Bolzano area and stay at the Landgasthof Kreuzstein. Explore the area.

Day 8 Visit Frozen Fritz and take the three castle walking tour northeast of the city.

Day 9 Drive to Ligano Sabbiadoro and stay at the Hotel Villa Luisa. Explore the area.

Day 10 Spend the day as beach bums

Day 11 Drive to Munich and stay at a hotel near the airport

Day 12 Fly home

I lived in northern Italy for 7 years and know that the summers can be brutal so we decided to stay north this time hoping for some cooler weather. We also wanted to stay local as much as possible.
