does anyone have any recommendations for reasonable priced eating out in Oslo? I know it is a very expensive city, just wondered if anyone found anywhere good!

Can I piggy-back onto this? We are spending a night in Oslo at the beginning of May and think it would be good to take family out for a meal. In Oslo in 1996 we had the most expensive meal we'd ever had (although its been exceeded since then).
I'd love to hear about somewhere good but not excessive- perhaps £50 per head?
Thank you
We enjoyed a Pakistani restaurant called Mehfel at Kirkegata 15 in Oslo Sentrum. You get 20% discount with the Oslo card too.
We also ate at Peppes Pizza - one large pizza between the two of us. Again 20% off with the card.
Lofoten Fiskerestaurant on the Acker Brygge( wharf) was recommended to us by a Norwegian friend. It is right on the water and serves a huge delicious bucket of shrimp for sharing. We loved it. Google for it's website.
thanks everyone, looking into all your recommendations, been before but it was 10 years ago!Frances, i am going on sunday for a week so will post when i am back
Here are some suggestions from a local for reasonably priced meals in Oslo.
Traditional Norwegian at Schrøder in Waldemar Thranes gate 8, some 120 NOK for today's special. Close to the nice St. Hanshaugen park, and lots of small cafés/restaurants around in this popular part of the city: http://www.restaurant-schrøder.no/velkommen-til-oss.html
Excellent thai food at close by Tasty Thai in Thereses gate 51 (entrance in Pilestredet). Some 100 NOK + for a main: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g190479-d803411-Reviews-Tasty_Thai-Oslo_Eastern_Norway.html
Affordable Indian food at extremely popular Curry & Ketchup in Kirkeveien 53. 100 NOK + for a main, doesn't accept credit cards: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g190479-d779072-Reviews-Curry_and_Ketchup-Oslo_Eastern_Norway.html
Bargain Chinese lunch (89 NOK) until 5pm in genuine Beijing Palace in Pilestredet 27. Wonderful dim sum.
Hai Café serves excellent and affordable Vietnamese food in Calmeyers gate 6. Extremely popular lately since it was known to be the favourite of some of Oslo's best chefs.
Great lunch offers (until 3pm) at high quality Asian restaurant Four Seasons in down-town Ruseløkkveien 3 close to the Royal castle, some 130 NOK: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g190479-d1600430-Reviews-Four_Seasons-Oslo_Eastern_Norway.html
Fabulous Italian food at nice prices in Cantina Cortina in Youngstorget 2 (Folketeaterpassasjen). Two dishes would be plenty and some 140 NOK.

Several fine and very affordable kebabs/shawarma/falafel places in down-town Torggata, especially in the Eastern section of the street.
Several great value Indian/Pakistani restaurants in and around Grønland/Grønlandsleiret.
And you can have as much American pizza as you like at lunchtime in any of the numerous branches of Peppe's Pizza for 99 NOK. https://www.peppes.no/pp08/app/?wicket:interface=:1:1:::
