Orta to Malpensa
My husband and I have two nights to spend in Orta in mid September. We'll be driving as we are attending a wedding not far from Orta prior to our visit there. We plan to stay Sunday and Monday, then need to catch a plane out of Malpensa at Noon on Tuesday. Is it feasible for us to drive to MXP on Tuesday morning? I've researched the distance and it looks to be about 25 miles? Also, any recs on hotels in Orta are appreciated. Should we stay on the island?

Here is the site you want.
www.orta.net We like the Hotel Orta, but Bussola is very convenient with a car. You will love Orta---we have been there 4 times now. The drive time is about an hour to MXP, but leave time for car return. Here is my most recent photo gallery:

I stayed in Orta San Giuglio for 2 nights last year and I also thought it was magical. I stayed at the Piccola Olina Hotel in the historic center. I paid 90 Euros for a doublen room with a huge breakfast included. The room was simple but spotless and comfortable.
I had a flight at 9.45 AM at Malpensa and the hotel arranged a taxi to pick me up. The ride was about an hour, so I think that it's totally feasible for you to drive there considering your flight is at noon.
Have a wonderful trip,
Castellanese.
