ORANGE - FRANCE

What are the thoughts on ORANGE and attending a performance there. It will be a costly evening with having to take private taxi service back from Orange to my hotel in Avignon. I am looking at the performance in August of the The Chorégies of Orange. There is no train or bus service afterwards. I will need to book a taxi or private tour company to take me back.

Perhaps someone has been or has any other ideas. I already looked at hotels and they are already booked.

thanks...

Do you mean a performance in the amphitheater? What a great thing to do!

There must be accommodation nearby in a gite or similar? Isn't that a very long drive late at night?

@Odin...I won't be able to rent a car although I wish I could.

@Cathies - I DO! I think it is so worth it....I looked at accommodation but the cost is more than a taxi and it would mean lugging my suitcase.

The website for Choregies d'Orange has a page called How to Get There. One of the options suggested is car pooling.

@Odin - thanks so much for that! I did manage to book a room that I can cancel and found a ticket! I am so excited!

It is good to hear the enthusiasm that you all expressed...it was the clincher. I have booked so many trips and your suggestions have never failed to be good ones.

I'm glad it all worked out. Will you come back with a little trip report about it please?
