Opinions regarding time to be spent in Rome, Venice, and Florence

Jump to last reply

Ok, Italian experts…..

Our family is planning a 14 day trip to Italy, next June. We will be visiting Ischia (family roots) for a couple days, then on to Rome, Venice, and Florence. We were originally planning on flying from San Fran. to Rome, and renting apartments in Rome and Florence (3 to 5 days each), and hoteling in Venice and Ischia. Trains and a ferry being the modes of transportation.

Ischia is a done deal, but should we rethink staying in Venice longer that Florence?? Or should we fly to Venice or Florence and work our way down to Rome and Ischia (departing from there)?

All adults traveling, looking for apartments with air conditioning and a patio, but not overly expensive.

Thanks in advance for all the advice :)
