Opinions on Ireland itinerary
We are going to Ireland for the first time in September. I have tried researching on the internet and this is the itinerary I have come up with. A little nervous that we are packing too many places in too few days as we usually like to settle into one place and get comfortable before moving on. That being said, I don't want to miss out on anything by being lazy! So here it is. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Day 1: fly into Shannon, drive to Galway, spend 2 nights at the House hotel.
Day 3: drive to Dingle. Stay 2 nights at Pax house.
Day 5: drive to Killarney. Stay 3 nights at Earl's Court Hotel.
Day 8: drive to Cork. Stay 2 nights at River Lee hotel
Day 10: drive to Dublin. Stay 3 nights at Intercontinental.
Day 13: Fly home from Dublin
I have yet to plan the itinerary for each city as I am not sure this is the itinerary I want to stick with!

Why Cork? Search internet for Cork vs. Kinsale vs. Cobh.
Between Cork/Kinsale/Cobh to Dublin, you can stop by at Rock of Cashel.
Where are you ditching your car? You would not want to drive into Dublin. It is a traffic mess now with tram line constructions in the center.

Cork is a great stop imo. You can do day trips from there to Blarney, Cobh or Kinsale. I would look at going to Midleton also.

You can take the coastal rt to Dublin or stop in the Wicklow mountains.

IMO, I'd stay in Kenmare rather than Killarney (very busy, full of tour buses)
Check out Shelburne Lodge, we loved it
Cork is also a large city, Kinsale is a good place to tour from, much more charm.
If in the Cork/Kinsale area try this restaurant in Midleton. One of our best dinners in Ireland.

One of our biggest surprises during our 2 trips to Ireland was the food. We expected to eat fish & chips the whole time and the variety & quality of the food floored us----fantastic!

Okay. I'm going to check out Kindle and Kenmore versus Cork. We were going to leave our car when we got to Dublin. Would it be a better idea to take the train to Dublin and leave the car beforehand?
