Only one night in Italy's Lake Dist. (I know - woefully short!)

Jump to last reply

Husband and I, with another couple, will travel to Italy in late September, having 10 nights total in the country. Flying into Rome and out of Milan, the basics are: 4 nights in Rome, 2 in Florence (which we've briefly seen before), 2 in Venice.

We'll spend the final night in or near Milan, for the 10:30 a.m. flight the next morning. This gives us one night between Venice and Milan. We'll rent a car when leaving Venice (thank you for a few comments previously re: our car rental). We want to drive to the Lakes area, enjoying what we see along the way, and spend one night and most of the following day there.

Any suggestions for such a short "glimpse" of this beautiful area? We think a little time will be better than none! Thank you.
