One week Italian Honeymoon Suggestions-Starting in Venice

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are recently married, both in our late 20's and planning a honeymoon to Italy this September. Originally we were going to do an escorted tour, but it sold out, so now are left planning for ourselves (and I've already looked for similar tours but none of them leave from Venice). We have already booked our flight there and arrive in Venice on Sept 21, 2015. From there we are an open book for a week. I've heard everywhere is amazing, so its tough to decide on where to go. I'd love to check out Rome and maybe Tuscany too (I'm a food and wine person). We leave Italy (can be any major hub with a train line) and are meeting friends in Munich on Monday, Sept 28. So basically 1 week to do anything. We'd prefer not renting a car. Does anyone have suggestions for hotels, cities that are MUST SEES, and specifically what to see or where to eat. I just know I'll want to go on a gondola ride, drink wine and eat pasta and pizza while we are there. I've also heard the Amalfi Coast is amazing too.
