Trip Report One more week hardly in Paris: still wandering the Ile de France

Jump to last reply

So, I did not expect to be following up my last report on this subject (http://www.fodors.com/community/europe/10-days-hardly-in-paris-wandering-the-ile-de-france.cfm) so quickly, but plans for another France trip did not materialize. So, I decided to continue working my way through Annabel Sims' wonderful "An Hour From Paris" guide book.

This was a good trip. Now, that's about as faint a praise as I can imagine for France trip, but it was so for several reasons. First, having recently completed a long planned permanent move of almost 1000 miles, the "get away somewhere new" urge was less than usual. Paris area weather was also bit gloomier than usual, and I had several days of tummy trouble following an unwise sandwich selection at a Paris train station. Finally, as I thought, I had picked many of the most interesting selections from the book on the last trip, and so what I saw this time was good, but not always as compelling as last year's travels.

Nevertheless, good it was, and it's all recorded in my usual phototravelogue style here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/101474843143134673458/albums/5944400256998074657?sort=1. Just click on the first photo to get the slideshow with captions started.
