One day in Paris-Suggestions for seeing the city
We are going to take a train from Brussels to Paris. What is the best way to take a tour of the city? Is there a get-on/off bus, like in Dublin Ireland? Suggestions for a starting place at the train station. There will be 4 adults and 2 children.

A map of the city would be helpful, and I can recommend the Paris Mpaguide [amazon] which has lists of attractions included.
You will be arriving at the Gare du Nord. There are luggage storage facilities there if needed.
If touring on your own, I would suggest taking the 42 bus [north east end of station] to the Eiffel Tower, passing many right bank points of interest along the way.
From here I would also suggest the batobus, which is a water taxi.

By the way, when buying a batobus ticket for the day you can add entrance at Musee d'Orsay for 5.50 and as a result you can use the special entrance door to the right of the crowds.
If you decide to visit the Louvre area, get off at the St Germain stop and walk across the Pont des Arts, the little pedestrian foorbridge below the Ile de la Cite. Marvelous views from here.

Thank you so much RonZ, ira too, we are going to take your advice and tour on the batobus. The grandsons will love it! They have just moved to Brussels so we hope to be touring Brussels and France in the next few years. The info you gave from the station will really help us!
