Old Oia Houses. Suggestions?

Hi everyone. Me again..

Thanks for all the help so far, I've basically been planning my trip on a lot of what Fodor's and Tripadvisor friends have suggested!

A lodging suggestion in Oia peaked our interest, Old Oia Houses... Has anyone stayed there of knows the area? We are looking for a studio to accommodate 2 people in late June. Any suggestions for specific rooms? Also, does anyone know how to get there from the Thira port?

As usual, thanks a lot for all the help!
Mike

I'd advise to take one of the rooms on the lower level. That way once thru the gate and down the stairs, you are away from the crowds walking thru Oia above. The rooms have spectacular caldera views. They bring bread in the mornings for breakfast, & we supplemented it with other things from the "fourno" (bakery).

Thanks Odin! I think we will be taking one of the lower rooms!

So these are the rooms that are opposite Zoe's Houses that I am referring to. I think the owners of Old Oia Houses have another house elsewhere in Oia. They gave us a larger room than we booked. I loved the bedroom & bathroom which was carved into the rock.

Odin, do you remember what room you stayed in? Also, where did you go for breakfast? I heard the breakfast at OOH is a piece of bread and a fruit!

I don't remember the room number, but it was thru the red door and down some steps, turn left and it was there, just past one of the studios.
We had breakfast on the balcony, they provided basics eg coffee, orange juice and delivered bread daily. They might have brought fruit as well but I don't remember. We bought extra things from the bakery and as we had a car, bought a watermelon and halloumi for breakfast from a supermarket.
