Oia hotel advice
After researching all of the Oia hotels mentioned in previous topics, I think we've narrowed it down to either a house (are they all cave houses?) at Old Oia Houses or a cave studio at Aspa Villas. Any advice on choosing between the 2? Any significant differences in the experience at those places?
Also, is there anywhere we should look at that might be a better choice than those 2? We looked through a lot of the hotel sites but it can get a little overwhelming and I want to make sure we didn't overlook someplace great. We're going for our honeymoon, most interested in something with a caldera view, less than 150 euro per night (we're going in late May), but are flexible on most other things. Thanks!

Those are both good choices. OOH do have a couple of houses that are not cavehouses, those nearest to the Clock Tower.
Aspa's Cavehouse is about 15 minutes' walk from the center of the village. OOH are all inside the center.
You may have already considered some of these: Lucky Homes, Golden Sunset Villas, Marizan Villas, Thea Studios, Strogili Houses, Rimida Villas, Filotera Villas, Delfini Hotel, Onar Villas, Oia Waves, Villa Kallisti, Casa Sofia, Lena's House, Aris Caves, Fotinos Houses and Lauda Hotel.

Crayon, where did you end up staying? I have "narrowed" by search to 10!! Yes, 10. Pathetic, I know. And that's just in Oia! I think I just need someone to decide for me darn it! And, did you love where you stayed or did you see another place there that caught your eye?? We too are honeymooners on a budget who want to get the most bang for our buck!

Here's a suggestion I offer to those suffering from a vacation brain lock: Make a list of your top 10 overall choices with #1 being at the top of your list. Contact them regarding availability and take the one closest to the top of your list. Decision made.

We were leaning toward Old Oia Houses but took so long deciding that they were booked when we finally decided. We then took another look through all the hotels on the list and the number of good options was so overwhelming that we just decided to go with Aspa since we were interested in it before.
The walk from Aspa wasn't bad but I think next time we might stay a little closer, like the area near Filotera or Delfini or Lauda (which all looked nice). They are also closer to the bakery that we went to everyday for pies. No idea how much those places cost though and we did get a really good price staying at Aspa.

Ohhh Brotherlee how easier said than done Really, it's kinda fun ... so far! Thanks Crayon -- we were considering Aspa also. Good recs. I just need to call Lauda and check in there. Thanks again guys! I lucked out so quickly in Mykonos that I guess this is payback!
