Off to France for a month next week, thanks to all
Many thanks to all the France experts and other posters whose generosity has served us so well in planning our trips. The postings we have copied over the past few months are now edited and printed out in what is our Fodorite Guidebook.
This time we will picking up our Europcar rental at CDG and heading for the Chateau de Fere. Then its Reims, Nancy and down through Alcase [Obernai and Thann] and then south along the border as far as Villers-le-Lac and Yvoire. Burgundy is next [Bouilland and Ygrande] on the way across to the Loire and three nights in Blere at Cheval Blanc. I was probably the first person to call for a reservation when they reopened in February. Then a train to St-Jean-de -Luz where we'll kick back for four days, another to Paris to end the trip.
So particular thanks to StCirq, Underhill, Christina, Gretchen, Mimi, Stu, and Ira.

Bonne route, Ronz! I'll be following you this Friday, when we leave for St-Cirq for 10 days and then Provence and then Lyon for the first time. I am SO ready for some downtime in St-Cirq, then some friend time in Provence, then some exploration time in Lyon.
Please report on your trip, particularly about the Cheval Blanc in Bléré, which is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in France (but I haven't been there for 6 years) and St-Jean-de-Luz, which I absolutely LOVE!
Bon voyage!

Have a wonderful trip and if you get the opportunity, have a meal at Le Foch in Reims (www.lefoch.com). We were there in May and thought it was terrific! Their 32 Euro menu can't be beat!!
