Now that I made my mind about Firenze which hotel in ROme?

I am staying in Rome twice in the same trip, for the second time I am thinking of a hotel near Campo di Fiori. Any suggestion, or for that matter in any other good location?

Try the Hotel Residenza in Farnese. Stayed there in October, highly recommend. Just steps from the Campo di Fiori and facing the French Embassy. Classy neighborhood. Staff most helpful.

We used Hotel Ponte Sisto , very close to Campo di Fiori. We reserved through ReservationItaly as their rate was much lower than the one offered by the hotel.

One that's listed in many guide books is Hotel Teatro Pompeio. Fodor recommends it, so you can check right here.

We were going to stay there but got a great deal on Hotel Ponte Sisto through reservationitaly.com.

Hotel FortySeven was perfect. Modern and comfortable, super nice staff, bathroom brand new and best of all within walking distance to everything. Would stay there every time.

Graziella-all I can add is, all of the hotels mentioned here are great choices, have checked them out at one time or another, Hotel 47 is a "hot," in the sense of hip, place to stay these days, Hotel Ponte Sisto, excellently located for Trastevere dining and hanging out, Hotel Teatro dei Pompeo is in an atmospheric quarter, by the Teatro, and the excellent "Da Pancrazio" restaurant is just next door, with the neat Roman arches actually running throughout the dining room, and the Teatro can be observed of course from the outside dining tables-my favorite, fresh artichoke ravioli served there.

You can't go wrong with any of these.

Hi

My wife and I went to Rome last year and we stayed at a hotel near Termini and we were quite happy with the location. It was easy to get to/from airport and it was easy to get around town by bus/metro and by walking. I have posted a trip report with some pictures and links on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com/rome_italy.htm , Also note that I have made an interactive Google map of Rome on http://gardkarlsen.com/rome_italy_map.htm

Regards

I also think the first four suggestions you received are good.

Here are even more options (all also in the historic center like the hotels suggested above. Check them for on-line specials:

We stayed at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve, based on recommendations from this board. We should have called ahead to try to secure a room with a better view, but the accommodations were very nice by European standards, and the location was superb. Very central (much more so than Hotel FortySeven, and all of the hotels around the Spanish Steps). Not near the Metro, though, if that's part of our your sightseeing plans.
