I posted this message in the Europa board, but intended to do it here.

So one more time:

We might reserve a cruise on Century to Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Alesund and Flamm.
I have found some info about Flamm (take the train), Alesund (maybe a trip to Lysefjord, walk around in Bergen and Oslo, maybe a trip to Geiranger from Stavanger.
But I am sure there will be people who will give me more ideas what to do and what is not to be missed on those places.

Here are some Bergen ideas.

1. Hanseatic Museum - especially if you are into history.

2. Floybanen - for the great views.

3. Fish Market - for the great fish.

4. Grieg's home - if you are into music.

Geiranger is spectacular. We made a cruise directly to Geiranger and booked a bus tour from their over the mountains, across a river, along a lake to a glacier. It was a fantastic tour.
Do not book a tour in Bergen and Oslo, just walk around and use public transport, but spend your money for a tour to Geiranger.

Traveller 1959, that is what we are thinking. Walk around in Bergen en Oslo and book the expensive tour to Geiranger.

In Oslo, try to get to the Bygdoy peninsula (I'm bound to have spelt it wrong and I don't have any 'o's with lines through them!). There are several small museums showing Viking ships recovered from the Oslofjord, and a museum commemerating Thor Hyadhal (more spelling!), and the Fram icebreaker vessel used to visit Antarctica.

If you are there in the summer, you can also swim from Paradisbukta.

There is also Vigelands Park, and the ski jump which are worth visiting too.

I have only visited Sognefjord and the Narrowfjord - both were stunning. There are pretty Stavkirk (wooden churches) along the way and the high mountain passes afford good views.

Norway in a nutshell is well worthwhile, though I thought Voss was a bit boring and would have preferred to spend less time there.

You should go to Geiranger close to Ålesund, it would be a highlight. And you should walk the steps to the viewpoint above Ålesund centre (or go by tourist 'train'), It offers some greate views.

Don't think it's worth doing a cruise on Lysefjord from Stavanger, compared to Flåm and Geiranger it simply not as impressive (Although walking to the Pulpit Rock is greate)

What do you think if not Lysefjord can we do in or around Stavanger that day? Any suggtestions.
I will try and make the Geiranger tour from Alesund, after the positive reports.

I read that is a very long difficult climb.. Is there a way to get there by car/cab?
