Scroll back into last months lounge and look for the title Norweigian Fjords and read the reply wherein I found neat websites on Norway in regards to the Fjords and the ferries that tour them. If you go into www.eurotrip.com and click on Web Links there will be a subtitle "Ferries" and you can brink up the Norweigin line. Also there was someone else looking for a ferry going from Germany to Oslo and I found out you can book the ferries here in the states through the Automobile Assoc. (AAA). Also use your EXCITE search engine and type in "Travel in Norway" or Skiing in Norway and you should find bunches. If all that fails hit the book store and find a Fodor's, Rick Steves, or Frommer's Book just on Norway. Also have a website that will ship you maps of the place your are going. If you have any questions please E Mail me. Good Luck!
There is a question down the page on Norway and I went into it and a fellow from Norway answered the question, why don't you E mail him direct. If anyone would know he would, Its: nils.johnsen@online.no, His name is Nils.
I am from Bergen on the south-west coast of Norway. In february we may have everything from fantastic winter weather and beatiful landscape-scenes to stormy weather.
The tourist season in the fjords of Norway is from may to september. But the ordinary communications by boat are excellent so it is no problem to go from Bergen to the best hotels at the fjords. I can recommend the following hotels:
Ullensvang Hotel - a 2 hours bus trip from
the capital of the fjords: Bergen
Balestrand Fjord Hotel, about 3 hours
with (speed)boat from Bergen
Cross country: I can recommend Voss - about 1 hour by train from Bergen. The hotel there is named
Park Hotel. From there you can reach a lot of excellent cross-country ski-resorts within a short time. At the same time Voss is a charming village where you will have good opportunities to study Norwegian history and culture(museums, etc.)
I also can recommend Geilo - 3 hours by train from Bergen and 4 hours by train from Oslo. Try Dr. Holm's hotel: It is excellent. In both Voss and Geilo there also are excellent possibilities for alpin skiing. I hope you will enjoy your honeymoon in our beautiful and peaceful country!
