We are visiting Norway in early June with our 6 and 10 year old children. We are beginning in Oslo and would like to stay a hotel for the first few nights of our trip. The caveat is that online bookings will consistently not allow me to book a room that will sleep the 4 of us.
I know hotels are very different than in the states. However, I know we are not the only people who travel with our children. Shouldn't there be an option on most hotelier's sites? Am I missing something huge? If so, please fill me in!
Thank you!!

Sicily Trip Report May 2013 - LONG and DETAILED

I just tried booking.com for four people in June and got all sorts of choices.
Thanks, I was trying to go directly through the hotels. I usually enter the number of people, but when it comes down to the room choices - a single or a queen don't apply. I'm not even finding the proper sleeping arrangements that we need as an option even though I know they exist.
I took one of the offerings under Booking.com and went to the hotel site. They offered a room for five ... I stopped looking after that. Good luck.

Clearly, I should have come here first! I've been looking in all the wrong places
Thank you!

In a quiet residential emabssy district, walk most everywhere from there. Oustanding buffet breakfasts..elegant old place. If you have trouble reserving over internet, why not telephome them? Or perhaps you don't recall those ancient days of yore English is widely understood and used in Norway, especially the cities.

If walking is difficult, there is a street-car (trolley) stop a half blcok away that goes into town center. Kids would enjoy that.
Good luck and enjoy Norway.
You should use the search engines to find hotels that have family rooms - for 4 - then contact those hotels directly to see if you can get better rates. Also be very clear about what the bed arrangement is - and don;t take anything called a "cot" - in British English this is a baby's crib - not a folding camp bed.
Almost 10 years ago, now, but we stayed at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia hotel in Oslo with our (then) 12 year old son, in a very nice family room. Loved the hotel, loved the included buffet breakfast -- in fact I remember of all the Radissons we stayed at that trip, the buffet breakfast was the BEST (and they were all pretty good!). They do have a family room, as I said, and I just checked the website and you can book for a family of 4.
