I loved it! Where did you find the most beautiful beaches?
The deep fried mussels look soo good.

Thanks so very much, amer_can and Egbert!

Those fried mussels with a bechamel sauce were delicious!!! Wish I had known how many were in a serving and how filling they were... really didn't need a main AND a dessert after them.

The coastal shots are in Gijon, Luarca and A Coruna.

I love your gallery--wonderful images that make me want to visit! I know you said no report, but how many days/nights did you stay in each place?

Hi Leely2,

Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the pics!

I am hesitant to post the nights per location info... it just opens up the flood gates for all the 'know all and be all Fodorites' who think they know how long you should spend in every place... even those they have never visited.

If you are interested in that info for a future trip of your own, you can send me an email at jp0330 at hotmail dot com. I'll send you my itinerary.

I am very interested in Spain--cannot decide on one area, though. We lived there for a year when I was a child, but I don't remember much at all. I'll send you an email. Leely is in the email address and it's a gmail account. Thanks!

Joannyc,

Wow, what a fabulous collection of pics showcasing northwest Spain. They are beautiful!

And so well documented. Particularly loved Burgos. I toured many, but not all, of these sites in 2006 so it was most enjoyable to reminisce.

So moving to see the pilgrims when they finally accomplish their journeys at Santiago de Compestela. Thanks again for sharing.

latedaytraveler,

Thanks so very much! It is a beautiful, beautiful region. I'm glad that you enjoyed revisiting your previous locations and discovering new ones!

Yes, it is very moving to see the pilgrims in the plaza of SdC. Brought tears to my eyes... and I didn't know any of them! LOL! But, I did congratulate many of them!

My thanks, too, joannyc!

I fully understand your reaction to posting details about the number of days and nights in any given place -- I've often given that information, and have often been the recipient of criticism as a result. It seems to me that the bottom line is that it REALLY depends on one's interests and priorities and lots of other things that are quite individual. And wouldn't it be awful if we all traveled in the same ways? Vive la différence!
