Normandy Itinerary Help

Jump to last reply

Hi. Just wanted to get some suggestions about our time in Normandy in May 2013. We had originally plan to do Normandy and Loire in the allotted time, but thanks to advice here decided it was too much to squeeze in. So I'm posting again. The only thing that's firm is that I want to visit Honfleur, Mont St. Michael and DH wants St. Mere Eglaise. The time and order do not matter to us.

We will be on a River Tour which includes the Normandy Beaches and will disembark in Paris on Sunday morning. We have to be at CDG on Friday noonish to fly home. So that gives us 5 nights to play with.

Keeping in mind that we will have seen a good overview of the Normandy Beaches on our cruise, we still want to go back to that area, as my DH is a history buff and will want to visit some of the places we have missed on the tour or spend a little more time at places we covered. Also, the cruise does not include Honfluer and I would like to go there. So here is my new itinerary.

Sunday (Honfluer): Disembark early in Paris, rent car and drive to Honfluer. Spend afternoon and night in Honfluer (I guess we'll take a cab to CDG and rent the car there since it's a Sunday morning. Thoughts?)

Monday (Bayeux): Make our way to Bayeux, stopping again at any WWII sights for more time. Spend Monday and Tuesday night in Bayeux, seeing the tapestry during some part.
Tuesday (Bayeux) Early trip to Mont St Michael and then back to Bayeux

Wednesday (Sainte Mere Eglise): Drive early to Mon St. Michel and then drive to Sainte Mere Eglise. (DH wants to stay at a particular B&B so this is firm)

Thursday: We have all day to wind our way to the Marriott at CDG. Might do the Caen Museum this day on the way. I guess we'll return the car to CDG.
