I have not stayed there - but do know the area. This hotel is basically right outside the Earls Court Exhibition hall. It is really close to the tube station. I personally would not stay in Earls Court - it is not nasty or anything, but it is not close to any of the major sites. It is a neighborhood of mostly budget hotels geared to conventions/shows at Earls Court and Olympia.
The Windermere is near Victoria. This is another neighborhood w/ a lot of budget to moderate hotesl. But Victoria is MUCH more convenient to the major sites than is Earls Court. Right there you have the tube and coach station and main line train station. Plus it is walking distance to the River, B;ham palace etc. I'd definitely stay at Victoria over Earls Court. .

B.R, thanks for the site, has great hotel pics.
Janis, thanks for the location input!
but, I am looking for more
"I slept in their beds" input.
We would be able to save over $400 total for our stay with the Amsterdam vs. Windermere.
but, I don't wish to be penny-wise, pound -foolish, and end up in a place that has very uncomfortable beds, dirty bathrooms, and unpleasant staff.
anyone stay here?
or know of another site besides TripAdvisor that may have input too?
Thanks

B.R,
thanks, I found many reviews on the Venere site.
I never paid close enough attention to the site to notice they had reviews!
and I found they had lots, which helped very much.
Again, thanks all for the different tips.
