Nice/Monaco Train Question
Hi everyone,
Do any of the trains between Nice and Monaco have storage for luggage? There will be 3 of us (2 adults and a child) with 4 bags and a stroller. I'm concerned that we'll have trouble finding space for our luggage on the train. How is the elevator situation in the train stations? Thanks!

The coastal shuttle trains are commuter trains - you can bring anything on board you want but there is no special room for luggage. And they could be crowded at times - you may want to look into a taxi or private car.

Looks like both have elevators. But I wouldn't count on luggage carts.

It's a commuter train that runs every 15 minutes. If one is too crowded, take the next one.
Nice station is a ground level but has elevators and lifts if you need them (sometime you don't at all when you're train is running on platform 1, which I seem to recall is the one that the train to the Italian border (and Monaco) uses.
The new Monaco station is far underground and was designed with all of the necessary equipment for getting people to the surface.

How often have you seen people in European train stations using one?>
zillions of time in zillions of stations:

There should be luggage carts - have euro coins handy to disengage them from racks - get your euro back when you return cart to any rack in station.

We are talking about Nice-Ville train station - you are sure that there are no luggage carts there? Pretty sweeping statement - maybe SNCF should update their info on carts? I of course am not saying that they are but are you sure no luggage carts in any SNCF station as you say?

Don't see anything about luggage carts here:

Or here, although it does show escalators:

My son is now traveling in France a lot on trains - I asked him to look for ludggage trolleys in stations and take pictures - may be true that homeless have stole all the luggage trolleys -well see.

I was just at Nice Ville in October and took the Monaco train 4 times for Villefranche, Beaulieu-sur-mer and Cap St Jean Ferrat.
Train was always packed. People brought their bikes on board. Some trains had luggage storage near the doors. Not all trains are the same layout.
You buy your train tickets from machines. You can watch a YouTube video on how to use the machine.
There were porters at Nice Ville, but I didn't notice trolleys.
The station is at ground level but you go down through a tunnel (with escalators or steps, can't remember) to get to the various platforms.
Never noticed any elevators.
Nice Ville is a small station. It certainly is no Gare du Nord.

Thanks everyone for your replies!
Re: amount of luggage, we have 2 rollerboards (1 large, 1carryon size) and 2 small carryon size bags (1 is a diaper bag). My husband is reasonable packer, but now that I'm using a larger bag to fit my stuff and the baby's stuff, I'm going back to my roots as a kitchen sink packer!!
We may brave it and take the train from Nice to Monaco to see how it goes. If it's a total disaster we can take a car back.
