Nice to the Luberon

Next, week leaving the airport at Nice to drive to the luberons. Have never driven on the other side of the road. Any advice, and suggested way to go as there are a few options.

It's almost all autoroute (A8, A7) - and quite scenic around the St Tropez exit where you're near the Maures mountains. Easy drive.

Thanks Stu, we are going to the b&b you recommended in the Luberons.

In my experience, you get adapted to the other side of the road quickly, but it is most tricky in the very beginning. Be VERY careful when you leave the rental car parking lot. It is then when probability is highest to make a mistake.

As Stu wrote, you will drive the A8 in the direction of Aix-en-Provence. The autoroute is quite scenic, but if you want a breathtakingly scenic section to drive leave the A8 in Mandelieu (Exit 40), then drive the coastal road (Corniche d'Or) to St. Raphael and go back on the A8 in Frejus (exit 37). It is one of the world's most beautiful drives with many pullouts for photoshooting.

BTW, it is still warm enough for swimming in one of those beautiful coves.

Sounds a good idea. Thank you. Is there anywhere that I can buy a SIM card on the way from an English speaking shop.

Get a Lebara SIM mailed to your home. Look up how to do that on past posts here on Fodors.
