Nice hotel in Sultanahmet w/ bathtub and view?
I think the Istanbul Four Seasons is too pricey for us but want a nice hotel in the same general area preferably with a bathtub (not just a shower) and a view of the Blue Mosque...any suggestions?? Thank You.

Hi! We recently returned from Istanbul. we stayed at the Sarnich Hotel. It is a historic class. We paid 60 USD pernight. It included breakfast and taxes. It also included free pickup and drop off at the airport.I made the reservation via e-mail and the room was held wiithout a deposit. The only caveat is to check out the room before you decide to stay. They vary in size and views. During the warm weathewr they have a roof top restaurant. The location was great inSultanahmet. Every manjor sight was within walking distance including a long walk down to the Bospherus for a great sandwhich of grilled fish. We even found a couple of interesting restaurants when you tire of Turkish food. The room by the way gad a showerand not much of a view, that why you have to check it out. E-mail me if yoiu have any more questions.
alan

While in Istanbul I stayed in the Sultanhamnet Palace Hotel it was steps away from the Blue Mosque and Haya Sophia. The rate was around $90 for a single in July and included breakfast. The hotel was a 4 star, rooms were a good size, and the bathrooms were mini turkish baths! Also beautiful views from the breakfast terrace. I'd highly recommend it.

Note: I believe it also goes by another name, but I found it through my travel agent, so you shouldn't have a problem finding it either.

Have fun!

Thanks for your suggestions and I will look into these. Another hotel I've read about is called Blue House....I want something upscale but NOT at the prices of Four Seasons. Feel free to add any more comments or suggestions...I really thank you lots! Marcie

Hi! I e-mailed you the other day but forgot to include this website. www.twarp.com. It is a Turkish travel co. with pictures and descriptions of hotels in various price ranges. There were a couple of other sites but I erased it when I returned. Thar is how I found our hotel and made reservations directly to the hotel using the hotels e-mail address.
alan
