Nice-Barcelona-Valencia

Hi,
I live in London and wanted suggestions.

I plan to do a week long trip in end of August. I was thinking of Nice-Barcelona-Valencia OR two Greek islands.
Considering the time I have (7 days) and the weather in August, would any of these be a good option. Also any tips for these?

I have been to all except Valencia.

IF THE "BEACH" IS YOUR FOCUS................in my opinion, the GREEK ISLANDS are a sure thing!!!

MYKONOS is always a winner with many different beaches on the island to pick from.

Beautiful beaches, water, a town that offers boutiques, restaurants. There is a big nightlife there if that interest you.

Many options in Mykonos.
An excursion to DELOS is very easy and close to see ancient ruins, etc., Yet will not cut into your Beach time.

I love Barcelona, & love Nice, however the actual beach in Nice is really not great. If your focus is BEACH....Greek Islands are amazing.

Agree re Mykonos. Go to skyscanner.com, note that Easyjet flights change day by day.

Thank you for your views. I was told end of august is too hot for Greece.

But I will check greek islands now. It sounds nice

I'm looking at a mix of beach time and walking around, eating nice food and lazing

Will research more about Mykonos

Thank you so much !!

All of those places are hot in August, but in fact, they are about the same temps (high will be in low 80s). Greek islands are a little hotter in July, actually. So if you want beach, I agree, Greece is the place to go.

Haven't been to Greece, but would love to go some day. Sounds like a good choice from the others' recommendations.

If you choose the other, I'd suggest that you pick either Nice or Barcelona for your 1 week, not try to visit 3 places. I would base in one of them for the week, as both have plenty to do to keep you busy. You could also do some day trips to different places on a few of your days.

For Barcelona you can do a day trip to Sitges for the beach or Costa Brava. There are also many options for day trips to places to visit and "walk" around.

There are many day trips you can do along the coast from Nice as well and there are some nice beaches, although many are pebble beaches rather than sand.

AUGUST or July are the perfect time to "vacay" on the beaches of Greek Islands.

If you want a BEACH trip in a beautiful European location with fantastic beaches .......weather is always sunny and great with long days.......Greek Islands are the place.

Great beaches in both Barcelona and Valencia.

And two fabulous cities:
Barcelona: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/en/
Valencia: http://www.valencia-tourist-travel-guide.com/

These food markets give you an idea of the food culture in both cities.
- La Boqueria in Barcelona is one of the finest in the world: http://www.gardenista.com/posts/la-boqueria-market
- Excellent clip from the Mercado Central in Valencia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds8ryWd5aFw

If you in the end decide to go to Barcelona, you will not regret. This place has a lot to discover for more days and for the nice beaches you can just go a little bit away from Barcelona.
You can also book some trips to for example Montserrat or something like that, I used BCN.travel for example.

Hope you will have great holidays!
