So excited to be planning another European adventure. We've just locked in our flights thanks to Singapore Airline points. As it is in December we were very limited re redemption flights so are quite pleased to get into London on Dec' 15. We will then need to be in Munich on or before the 22nd. We're thinking of maybe taking the train, Eurostar to Paris and then onto Munich. We’ve only transited through Munich previously so more than happy for a day or two to explore the Christmas Markets and have a look around. We've been to London & Paris a couple of times, so a day or two in each place is fine (maybe 3 or 4 for London )
Our 'kids' and their partners will meet us in Munich, we have 5 nights booked in a resort in Zillertal Austria over Xmas. More details later but we bought a package that was pretty amazing so we're building a trip around those 5 days. The 'kids' are then all heading off to do their own thing, one couple heading to the UK and the others are doing a Contiki type tour. Dh & I will then fly to Madrid or Barcelona were we will have two to three weeks to explore.
Anyone on this forum, who 'knows' us, knows we are very independent travellers and very comfortable driving in Europe. We're thinking very seriously of hiring a small camper!!!! We've always wanted to try this and it seems like a good opportunity to do it, not so hot etc. I will be back with loads of questions as always but in the meantime if anyone has any hints or tips based on this very broad/rough plan, we'd love to hear from you.
Next trip booked, London, Munich, Xmas in Zillertal (Austria) & Spain.

No such thing as a small camper these days, especially hired ones.
In Spain camp sites the majority will be closed. Wild camping not permitted.
It will be cold too, so maybe it will be best to stay in Casa Rurals and snuggle down beside an open fire. Winter accommodation can be as cheap as a nights camp site in high season.
Really? We'd heard that 'some' would be closed but 'majority' is a worry............ We really wanted to try this out on a shorter holiday. (not bothered by the cold though)
