Take the train to London, you absolutely don't want a car there.
Not long enough in London, drop Dublin.
"What do you think"
I have absolutely no idea what to think. You haven't told us anything much. It is just a list. Have you been to any of these places before? Have you already booked these flights?
You've allowed as much time for Bayeaux and Dublin as for London which wouldn't be most people's choice. A lot of jumping around and not much time anywhere
This is just an exercise in getting your passport stamp collection right??
If Not .. Get the train Paris to London why go all that way by ferry??
The ferry makes sense to me if OP is in Bayeux. It's easy to get to Caen or one of the other Normandy ports to take the ferry to Portsmouth, rather than doubling back to Paris.
Agree drop Dublin if a first trip to London and certainly take the train from Portsmouth to London.
We did this trip in reverse (minus Dublin) as a two-week+ trip. It was one of our favorite European trips. We spent 5 days in London, 3 in Bayeux and 6 in Paris. It took a day to travel from London to Bayeux. We traveled by ferry from England to (I think) Calais, rented a car and drove to Bayeux. It was a great trip but you need to allow yourselves time to enjoy your stops. I would drop Dublin. With a 10-day trip, if I am counting correctly, you don't really have enough time for more than 3 stops and even that will be rushed.
Well - you have no time in either London or Dublin so I don;t know wy you're going there. If you dropped London you could have a couple of days in Dublin - which is not unreasonable since it's a small city for a capital.
You could drop Dublin and just spend days in London - but there is so much to see and do I hesitate to reco for fewer than 5 nights - unless you have alredy been there and see many of the sights.
The reason we are going to Dublin is because my wife is from Dublin, she would stay there 5 days to visit family. If I were to finish in Bayeau on Sunday midafternoon. When can I reasonably expect to get to London if we took the train from Paris to London
Well, you have to figure in the time to get from Bayeux (please note the correct spelling - it could help in your research) back to Paris, switch stations, then the Eurostar from the Gare du Nord to London.....so probably an all-day excursion as it is a Sunday and the trains from Bayeux to Paris will be fewer than on weekdays and Saturdays. You can see schedules at www.voyages-sncf.com.
Another reason to perhaps consider the ferry is that you can take it overnight from Caen to Portsmouth. Do spring for a berth if you decide to do it though so you can actually get some sleep.
We did that going back from our trip last year and it was a big hit with the kids (perhaps irrelevant) and worked well with our plans.
