Hi all. We're a party of 5 with one vegetarian going to Europe over the Christmas and new year holiday (my daughter turns 18 on Dec 28). We're going to be in Rome for New Year's Eve and would love some suggestions for some great food and fun for the night. Can anyone help, please? I'm starting to get anxious as the time is getting near.
Thank you
New year's eve in Rome

As far as food, start making reservations now if you plan to eat at a restaurant in the evening. This is a BIG meal and some can be quite expensive. We generally had a late-as-possible big lunch and skipped the evening meal to be out in Rome...
There is plenty going on in the city. Concerts everywhere. Fireworks are usually done by neighborhood; the city has fireworks over Villa Borghese. We stumbled home to a huge fireworks display near our apt about 2 AM? Head to a site like inromenow.com
People by the thousands head to the concert at the Colosseo. You can't get close unless you go early. Of course, for many the highlight is joining in the celebration at Piazza del Popolo.
