Hello! I'm going to be in Paris for New Year's Eve. Any suggestions on fun things to do? I'm going to be with my cousin, and we're both young (20 and 22).

Hi!
Did you find anything interesting to do? I am also visiting Paris during that time. (Im 25). Lots of people have told me to just hang out in the Eiffel Tour or de Champs Elysees, but I honestly dont know what to do :/
The Champs Elysées is the main gathering point for the festive crowds.
The only reason that some people go to the Eiffel Tower is because they mistakenly believe that there will be fireworks. There are no fireworks!
Oh, and all public transportation in the Paris metropolitan area is free from 5 p.m. on December 31st until noon on January 1st.
Okay, what you should do: buy goodies at the various traiteurs and purveyors of food near your hotel -- don't forget to buy anything you might want to drink -- and have a little feast with your cousin at the hotel. Around 10 p.m. walk to the Champs Elysées and join the festive crowd. Leave it as soon as you feel like it.
What about the bar/club scene on New Year's? Is that recommended?
Depends what you call a bar (most cafes serve that purpose to me), but I believe Paris is like most cities, you don't just wander into clubs on NY eve. They have special events and it is expensive.
However, I could be wrong, here are some popular places http://www.wagg.fr/

Haven't been there, but have heard there are a lot of people on the streets partying and whooping it up in the Bastille area, also, as well as Champs-Elysees (start around the column).
Wagg seems to be only 45 euro on NY eve but you do need tickets http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?417806
We were in Paris last year for New Year's Eve and found that Kerouac's comments describe the celebrations. It seems that a lot of the neighborhoods have their own. We did not book an expensive restaurant for dinner, but did pick up some lighter fare, and went to a concert in the St. Germain des Pres area, not too far from our hotel. There were many cafes/bistros on Boulevard St. Germain open and festivities were in full force when our concert was over at about 11:30. We were able to find a table in a cafe and ring in the New Year! But, as Kerouac suggested, the Champs-Elysees seemed to be the place to go for the most action.
Hope the above thoughts are helpful. Have a great time in Paris, one of our favorite cities.
Since our hotel is near the Champs Elysées, I think we might end up just going there for the New Year's celebrations. It seems to be the place to be, and since it's so close, it makes it easier. No need to worry about transportation or anything.
Thanks!
Even less worry about transportation since it will be operating free of charge all night. So if it suddenly strikes your fancy to go up to Sacré Coeur or go and see the Eiffel Tower anyway, you can go ahead and do it very easily. Normal service will run until 2 a.m. in any case until the limited holiday night service takes over.
Thanks!
