I know there have been previous threads on this topic but several searches have failed to turn anything up. My 22 yr old daughter and I (forty something mom) will be in Paris from 12/25 - 1/1. We are looking for something exciting that will make us both happy for New Year's eve (a tall order!) Is there a publication (like TimeOut in London) or a website, where we can try ideas out on eachother? Or does anyone know of something great? Maybe we should find a good restaurant that has a handsome older waiter and a handsome younger waiter..... No, forget I said that!

I'd check www.timeout.com, although I don't know if they have daily information (rather than just a guide to Paris). Also, www.pariscope.fr is a great site - it is in French, but they may have an English language button on the homepage (I do not recall).
Thank you Eileen. My daughter speaks French so I'll give her that responsibility!
The problem is that local publications don't list New Year's Eve events this far in advance, only much closer to the date. I posted previously to another thread on an online newsletter with very specific suggestions for NY Eve culled from local newspapers or ads from a year or two ago (but I assume same places would again have events) but since you searched and didn't find what you wanted in previous threads, I guess you meant that one also so I won't look it up (was in response to a senior looking for local music/dancing NY Eve, posted within last month). I get some email newsletters from Paris sent me by subscription on clubs, etc, one is www.novaplanet.com (which has clubs section) and the other www.http://www.danse-a-2.com/Paris/
www.jazzvalley.com may also have something.
Could you ask the concierge at your hotel? My daughter is going to be in London with her 11 yr old son over Thanksgiving, which is his birthday. She called and asked them a bunch of questions about what to do to celebrate, they got her tickets to see Mama Mia on his birthday, they are so willing to get involved with his fun! Try it, I always call ahead and ask my hotels concierge about things in Paris and in Canada..and who better to know just what is happening? C
Christina, I remember seeing your post and that was why I did the search originally. I was interested to see if you got any feedback. I will check out those websites. Thanks.
CDF, I have written the hotel manager asking for suggestions. Thanks. I spent last Thanksgiving in London and it was GREAT. Lots going on, and lots of Christmas decorations already up. I had a fabulous time. Be sure to get to Harrods for tea or a snack.
you mean feedback from someone on those suggestions or who went there and then let me know.... no, there have only been a few people who ever let me know anything, I don't know if they even read it and liked or disliked the suggestions, or what. A few folks write me to let me know how my suggestions work out (christinaw@virtualtourist.com) but most disappear never to be heard from again.... (I don't always post my email on here but some other places I do and I still rarely hear)
