New Year's Eve in French or Italian Riviera?

Where's the best place in French/Italian Riviera to spend New Year's Eve this year? How about Monaco? Appreciate input.

You might want to consider Monte-Carlo Beach, a 5-star luxury hoel in Monaco for this little adventure (www.monte-carlo-beach.com).

They are offering a "Monte-Carlo New Year Experience" – 3-night stay at Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort for a modest 652.86€ per night.

For a really luxurious and fun time I would make a reservation at the Carlton in Cannes.

Thank you all for the ideas. There was also a suggestion to travel by speed train to Paris for New Year's Eve, hmmm.

The speed train will still take well over 6 hours.
