I'm not usually susceptible to a fear of heights, but ... I don't know about this.

Stanserhorn is a great mountain. You first go up with the historic funicular and then change on the brand new and unique cabriO cable car to the top of Stanserhorn.
Those who do not like to be on the outside plattform of the cable car, can easily stay inside the cabin.

That looks great! I wish I had planned a day in Lucerne this September. I would try it out.
I just checked the timetable on sbb.ch. I can stop in Lucerne on my route to Wengen and stow my luggage in a locker, then on to Stans. I may be a bit tired, but that cable car should wake me up!
